The team behind Operation Christmas Child enjoyed a fantastic day at Northfield Shopping Centre on 24th October, engaging with shoppers and spreading awareness about the life-changing impact of a simple shoebox gift.
In just one day, volunteers held an incredible 150 conversations with individuals interested in taking part and distributed dozens of empty shoeboxes ready to be filled. The response from retailers was equally heartwarming, with almost every store approached keen to get involved by packing a shoebox together with colleagues.
Susan, a volunteer, shared:
“We had a very enjoyable day on Saturday. The team had 150 conversations with people interested in sending a shoebox and gave away boxes that they can pack. All but three of the shops were also excited to pack a shoebox together with their workmates and grateful that I came with that invitation.”
